I'm back again and there's gonna be trouble, hey now, hey now

September 13th, 2004. That's the last time I blogged. To be honest, I'm still not comfortable with the word "blog", let alone making a verb out of it. So, it's been three months since I journaled on-line. Which isn't to say I have been stifling and suppressing my creative juices. I've kept up with my hand-written journal.

What's happened over the course of the last three months?

--I was selected to a jury: a dog attack case. It's amazing how divided this nation is on dogs. Everyone has an opinion: good or bad, positive or negative, dogs are Jesus, Buddha, and Muhammad all wrapped in one or they're Hitler/Mussolini/Pol Pot. Really. Dogs, same sex marriage, abortion, the war in Iraq: these are the issue that divide 21st century America.

The case was settled out of court. What a let-down that was.

--I turned 35 and so has Tim. We are now old enough to make our run for the White House.

From Sinatra, "When I was thirty-five it was a very good year. It was a very good year for blue-blooded girls. Of independent means, we'd ride in limousines their chauffeurs would drive. When I was thirty-five.

--I met a woman named Liz.

--Bush was re-elected...uugggghhhhh.
--Bush's cabinet practically disappears--except for Rumsfeld, my nemesis.
--Jon Stewart is helping me through the bad times.

--I'm finishing up my schooling.

--My SAT class continues, my nascent teaching career is gaining momentum. Most notably, I'm getting used to the title "Mr. Lewis".

--I met a woman named Liz.

--I've added spinning to my work-out regiment. I used to scoff at the notion of going indoors to mount a stationary bicycle when one could ride through the hills, valleys, and alluvial flow of the San Gabriel. Turns out, the communal aspect of spinning, along with the music, and encouragement of a coach makes all the difference. Ohhh the lessons we learn.

Gotta go...more later.
